This policy explains what information Spain Rental Licence Check collects, why, how long it is kept and what rights you have. It describes the service as it operates today.

Who we are

Spain Rental Licence Check operates spainrentallicencecheck.com, an independent information service that publishes holiday-rental licence information taken from official public registers. We are not a government body. The data controller is Northwest Invest Ltd (company number 06814359), 72 Overchurch Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 4NN, England. Information we collect

Search activity

When you check a licence we log the reference searched, the time of the search, the page you came from and a broad device type. These logs let us monitor performance, detect abuse and understand which areas need coverage. They are not used to build a profile of you and we do not ask for your identity in order to search.

Forms you submit

If you use the contact form, a data correction request, a professional or advertising enquiry or a newsletter sign-up, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, the licence number concerned and your message — so that we can respond and keep a record of the request.

Technical information

Our hosting and security infrastructure processes standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and request details. This is used to deliver the site securely, apply rate limits and investigate misuse.

Administrative and security logs

Actions taken in our internal administration area — for example approving or correcting a record — are recorded with the account that performed them. These logs are internal and are never published.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used and Google AdSense to display advertising. Both run under Google Consent Mode: analytics and advertising storage stay denied, and the AdSense tag is not loaded at all, until consent is given. Analytics consent is collected in our cookie banner; advertising consent is collected by Google’s certified consent management platform (IAB TCF v2). With advertising allowed, Google and its certified partners may set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads, under Google’s own privacy notice. You can withdraw consent at any time from cookie preferences.

Public register information

The licence records shown on this website originate from official open data published by Spanish authorities. We deliberately publish only non-identifying registration information. Holder names, registered street addresses, contact details, identification numbers, cadastral references and exact coordinates are not published, and where a source establishment name reads as a personal name or an address we replace it with a neutral placeholder. If you believe a published record still identifies you, please submit a data correction request.

Lawful bases

  • Legitimate interests — operating, securing and improving the service, and publishing licence information already made public by official registers so that consumers can verify it.
  • Consent — newsletter sign-up, and any non-essential cookies if these are introduced in future.
  • Legal obligation — where we must keep records or respond to a lawful request.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers that operate the website on our behalf — hosting, database and mapping providers — and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. Where you deliberately submit an enquiry to a listed professional, your details are passed to that business so it can reply.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies and equivalent storage. Optional storage — Google Maps, Google Analytics and Google AdSense — is loaded only after you agree through the cookie banner, and your choice can be changed at any time from the cookie preferences link in the footer. Details are in our cookie policy.

Retention

  • Search logs: retained in aggregate or pseudonymised form for up to 24 months.
  • Contact and enquiry submissions: up to 24 months after the matter is closed.
  • Data correction requests: up to 6 years, as evidence of how a record was handled.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Security and administrative logs: up to 12 months.

International processing

Our infrastructure providers may process data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, contact us through the contact page, or use the data correction request form for issues about a specific licence record. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority — in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.

Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed at children.

We will update this page when the service changes, and we will change the date at the top when we do.
