About Spain Rental Licence Check

What we do

Spanish regions require most short-term holiday rentals to hold a tourist registration number. Those numbers are published in official registers, but the registers can be difficult to search and are written for a Spanish-speaking audience. We import published records, normalise them into a consistent format and make them searchable in plain English.

You can enter a licence number exactly as it appears in a rental advertisement and see whether a matching record exists in the data we currently hold, along with the public registration details for that record.

Current coverage

Current coverage: holiday-rental registration records for Málaga province and the Costa del Sol, in Andalucía. Other provinces are not yet searchable here.

We are deliberately expanding slowly, municipality by municipality, so that every imported batch can be reviewed before it is published. Absence from this website does not prove that a licence is invalid — it usually means that the record has not yet been imported. For definitive confirmation, always consult the official regional register.

Where our data comes from

Records currently come from the Registro de Turismo de Andalucía (OpenRTA) open data published by the Junta de Andalucía. Imported data may contain delays, omissions or inconsistencies that originate in the source. Full detail is set out on our data sources page, and our review process is explained in how it works.

Independence

Spain Rental Licence Check is a private, independent information service. It is not a government website and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Spanish Government, the Junta de Andalucía, or any regional or local authority. We do not issue, approve, suspend or cancel licences.

Privacy by design

We publish only the information needed to confirm that a registration exists. We do not publish holder names, registered street addresses, contact details, identification numbers or cadastral references, and property maps are shown at municipality or locality level only.

How we are funded

Searching is free for users. The service is funded through advertising, sponsored professional listings and affiliate arrangements. These are disclosed on our advertising disclosure and affiliate disclosure pages, and commercial relationships never change what a licence search returns.
